Here I give my list of best folding camping chairs with a side table that are currently on the market, all very stable structures and with solid armrests.
What is included in the list
• Obviously, all the chairs are with a side table and this is usually with a cup holder, but some of them also have either a cooler on the other side of the chair or an organizer with pockets.
• Regarding the materials, you have either an aluminum frame or steel. The fabric is normally synthetic and mesh, and some of the chairs have padding.
• Yet another common feature is that they have solid armrests, and this is why most of them are large in two dimensions when packed. But they become flat in such a state and you can store them in narrow spaces.
• You will see also that they all have bars combined with feet, or only bars, so you can use them even on a soft ground and they will not sink very much.
• Those are also chairs with a normal back support so you do not have headrests in these designs.
• Some of them are also with a cooler and with many other elements for storage.

1. Best Choice Products Oversized Zero Gravity Reclining Lounge Patio Chair
This Best Choice Products Oversized Zero Gravity Reclining Lounge Patio Chair comes with a side table, and this is one of its many features.
This is a folding recliner of a specific type as you realize from its name. So it reclines while at the same time it footrest raises up. I have added it to my list of chairs with a footrest and also to my list of reclining chairs.
The chair is incredibly comfortable. It is also in my list of chairs with sunshade, and the reason you can see in the picture.
It offers a pleasant and adjustable headrest so I have added it to my list of chairs with a headrest. It comes with solid armrests, it weighs 21 lb (9.5 kg), the weight capacity is 250 lb (113 kg), and the price is great.
2. Cabela’s Big Outdoorsman Director’s Chair with Side Table
This chair is here because of its impressive side table that you see above. But the chair is also with a huge seat that measures (W x D) 28 x 17 inches (71 x 43 cm).
It comes with pleasant anatomic armrests. The whole structure folds easily and it fits in narrow spaces.
The capacity is equally impressive 500 lb (227 kg), and this is why I added it also to my list of camping chairs for heavy people. It is affordable and it weighs 21.2 lb (9.6 kg).
3. Coastrail Outdoor XXL Oversized Director Chair
This chair offers a storage system on one side and a side table on the other side. Note also that it is padded.
Here you also have a very wide seat that measures 23.6 inches (60 cm). The capacity of 600 lb (272 kg) is truly impressive. Because of this, I have included it also in my list of chairs for heavy people.
The chair is easy to use and reliable with its steel frame. The weight is 16.3 lb (7.4 kg).
4. Coleman Portable Deck Chair With Side Table
This Coleman Chair is here because of its side table which you see in the picture. But this is an incredibly popular chair with more than 900 reports by customers on Amazon. When you see its price ($45 at the moment of writing this text) and the design, you realize the reasons for such a popularity. Just to know also that it has been on the market for a number of years already.
The is a folding design and with solid armrests, so the packed size is not so great. But when you compare it with its competitors, you realize it is very lightweight, this is because of its aluminum frame, so it weighs only 7.12 lb (3.22 kg). The capacity is 225 lb (102 kg).

5. Eureka Director’s Chair with Side Table
This is a steel chair and you realize this from its weight which is 12 lb (5.44 kg). The side table folds separately from the chair so you do not have to use it all the time, but it cannot be removed.
The general design is similar to other chairs in the list, but the legs are a bit specific. You have a combination of legs with cups on the back and bars on the front. With such a design, you can use it even on a soft ground and it will not sink considerably.
The packed size is 33 x 22 x 5 inches (85 x 56 x 13 cm), so it is a bit bulky and this is because of its solid armrests. Though such a packed size is similar to the other chairs here. It is easy to use, no assembly, and it is ready in a couple of seconds.
6. EVER ADVANCED Oversize XL Zero Gravity Recliner
This chair is here because of its side table with its integrated cup holder. But as you see, this is one of the chairs that are described as zero-gravity type. This is a recliner and it also has a footrest as well and this footrest raises up as the chair reclines. This is why it is also in my list of chairs with footrest.
The chair is pleasantly padded and you have a nice headrest. So I have included it in my list of chairs with a headrest. This is a huge steel chair so it is heavy, it weighs 19.8 lb (9 kg). The official capacity is 350 lb (159 kg).
7. GCI Outdoor 3-Position Reclining Director’s Chair with Ottoman
This GCI chair is here because of its side table, but it has far more features. This is a folding reclining camping chair and a patent-pending design. You have a three-position backrest for ultimate comfort.
As you see from the picture, it comes with an ottoman where you can put your legs. Note that this ottoman fits in a side pocket on the chair.
8. GCI Outdoor Big Surf Chair with Sunshade
The side table which you can see in the picture is underneath the seat. But this is a sliding design and this detail makes the chair unique on the market. So this is a patented construction, and it includes a reclining backrest and a padded headrest.
You have shoulder straps so you can carry it backpack-style. The canopy is adjustable and it folds together with the chair. The weight is 10 lb 9.3 oz (4.8 kg).
9. GCI Outdoor Freestyle Rocker Chair with Side Table
This chair is here because of its side table which is functional and with several separate slots for small items like a bottle, a coffee cup, and a smartphone.
But this is also a rocker chair with their usual rocking mechanism that works on practically every surface.
It follows the same design used in many of their outdoor chairs, and this means it is easy to use, with solid padded armrests, and reliable. The chair weighs 13 lb 9.6 oz (6.17 kg), and the capacity is 250 lb (113 kg).
Note that they have yet another XL version with the same features.
10. GCI Outdoor Slim-Fold Director’s Camp Chair with Side Table
This is a chair from a renown brand and what you have here is a steel construction with bars so it will not sink considerably on any surface. But as you see from the picture, it is also with plastic cups on the bars so the design is floor-friendly and you can use it even in a larger family camping tent.
Obviously, it has a side table and this is why it is in the list. You also have solid armrests and this is why its packed size is not so great, but it is quite similar to the other chairs here in the list. This is a patent-pending design and it indeed folds slim as the name suggests, it is only 4.25 inches (11 cm) thick when folded.
11. Guide Gear Oversized Tall Director’s Camp Chair
The focus here is on the side table, so this chair has it of course. But this is a chair with a very high seat that is 22 inches (56 cm) above the ground. So if you need a really tall chair for a tall user, this is it.
The capacity is also impressive 500 lb (227 kg), so it is included in my list of camping chairs for heavy people.
The chair is a folding type, very large, and easy to use, and with solid and padded armrests. The weight is 16.9 lb (7.66 kg).
12. Kamp-Rite Director’s Chair with Side Table
This chair folds flat but indeed it remains large in the other two dimensions, the packed size is 37 x 22 x 7 inches (94 x 56 x 18 cm). So these are large numbers but you can see something similar in several chairs here.
The weight is 14 lb (6.35 kg), so it is heavier than many of the chairs in the list, and the capacity is very good, 350 lb (159 kg). You have the integrated table and the solid armrests which are with a padding.
The frame is aluminum and the fabric is polyester with some light padding. As you realize from the picture, there are bars that connect the front and rear legs, so those will prevent sinking if you use it on sand or on a soft ground.
13. KingCamp Heavy Duty Compact Camping Folding Mesh Chair with Side Table
This chair is very unique here in the list because of the following. It folds like many other chairs from two sides to the center, but then you fold it once more from above. So in the packed state, it becomes almost square and considerably smaller than the other chairs of this type. This is the reason for the word Compact in its name.
Yet another feature here is that the side table unfolds together with the chair, so you cannot fold it separately. The weight is 11.9 lb (5.4 kg), and the capacity is up to 300 lb (136 kg). The mentioned paced size is 20 x 19 x 6 inches (51 x 48 x 15 cm).
This is a steel chair and you have solid armrests, a carry handle, and a side table with a cup holder.
14. KingCamp Heavy Duty Steel Folding Chair/Director’s Chair with Cooler Bag and Side Table
This is yet another chair from the KingCamp brand, but this one is quite different. Here you have the side table and this is why it is in the list, but you also have a large cooler on the other side. Note that both the side table and the cooler can be folded separately from the chair and this makes it different from the Compact chair above.
The packed size of this chair is also very different, so it is rather bulky when packed, 36.6 x 22 x 7.1 inches (93 x 56 x 18 cm). It weighs 14.8 lb (6.7 kg) and the capacity is 330 lb (150 kg).
The construction is steel, you have solid and padded armrests, and the chair is stable on any terrain because of the bars that are between the front and rear legs; they prevent sinking even if you use it on sand.
15. Mountain Summit Gear Cooler Chair
This chair comes with a side table and with a cooler. It is an easy to use folding steel construction with solid and padded armrests. The cooler is removable and the side table is fixed but folding.
The weight is typical for such a type, it weighs 11 lb (5 kg), and its capacity is 300 lb (136 kg). The frame is steel.

I am sure that already from the picture you realize that this Oniva chair is something extraordinary. So see this list of features to understand this even more clearly, here are some of the most important ones:

- Huge detachable insulated cooler – shoulder bag.
- Shoulder straps.
- Padded seat and backrest.
- Solid armrests.
- Multiple pockets.
- Loops on the back for umbrella or sports banner.
This is an aluminum structure and the storage elements set which you see on the right is removable and you can carry it as a shoulder bag. The chair itself has straps so you can carry it as a backpack. There is no chair currently on the market with so many features.

It is here because of its side table, but this is also a recliner, with a great adjustable padded headrest, and solid armrests. I have included it also in my list of best reclining camping chairs.
This is not all, the chair has a footrest and it is in the group of what is known as zero gravity chairs. The chair is padded, and the frame is steel. It weighs 24 lb (10.9 kg) and the weight capacity is 350 lb (159 kg).
19. Stylish Camping Full Back Folding Director’s Chair
Here you have an incredibly lightweight chair for such a type, it weighs only 6.13 lb (2.78 kg), so just compare this with the other chairs in the list.
The frame is aluminum and the chair is with solid armrests, so although it is bulky when packed, the dimensions in the packed state are really reasonable, 23.6 x 19.5 x 32.7 inches (60 x 50 x 83 cm). So again, see the other chairs in the list here to realize the difference.
It comes with a bonus side table which is (L x W) 15.5 x 10.5 inches (40 x 27 cm) and here you also have a cup holder. But there is also a rather big organizer on the other side which contains several very useful pockets.
20. SUNNYFEEL Camping Chair with Side Table
So this SUNNYFEEL Camping Chair with Side Table is here because of its integrated system on the side. They call it a side table but this is a huge storage space or a cooler. You can indeed keep things on its top surface and use this as a side table, but this is a soft construction.
Although the size is great, the chair is very easy-to-use, this all folds easily for transportation. You have an integrated bottle opener and cup holders. The weight is 13 lb (5.9 kg) and the capacity is 300 lb (136 kg).
21. Timber Ridge Cedar 2 Person Love Seat Folding Director’s Chair
So you realize from the picture that here you have something specific. This Timber Ridge Cedar 2 Person Love Seat Folding Director’s Chair has two folding side tables, and this is a double-wide camping chair. But note that it is without a central bar so it can be used as a single chair by very big users.
The chair is very easy to use, strong and reliable and its capacity is 600 lb (272 kg) so this should be strong enough even for the heaviest possible users. It weighs 20.3 lb (9.2 kg) so it may look heavy but this is a double chair.
22. Timber Ridge Director’s Chair with Side Table
This is a very lightweight chair for such a type, it weighs only 7.36 lb (3.34 kg) and this is remarkable. This is mainly because of its frame which is aluminum. Obviously, it is a folding type and two of the dimensions are large in the packed state, 35.83 x 21.26 x 7.09 inches (91 x 54 x 18 cm), but as you realize it becomes rather flat.
They build this chair in two versions, with full back design, and with a partial back. The meaning is that back fabric is connected with the seat in the first case, and disconnected in the second model.

23. Timber Ridge Laurel Director’s Chair
This Laurel Chair comes with quite a number of features. You see from the picture that it has a cooler on the side with 13 liters of volume and you can fold it when not in use.
Yet another is obviously the side table and this is why the chair is in the list here. You also have a small mesh pocket under the seat where you can store your phone.
The chair is with padded and solid armrests and the back seat is padded. Note also that this is a very lightweight aluminum chair that weighs only 7.3 lb (3.3 kg), and it is very affordable. Please follow the link for more.
24. Timber Ridge Zero Gravity Chair Oversized Recliner
This Timber Ridge Zero Gravity Chair Oversized Recliner is here because of its side table visible in the picture. But this is also a huge chair and with an impressive 600 lb (272 kg) capacity, so it is added to my list of chairs for heavy people.
But it is packed with features, easy to use, and very reliable. You have a headrest here and it doubles also as a lumbar support if you want to use it that way. You also have a footrest, the chair is a recliner as well, and it is padded.
This is also what is called the zero gravity chair, designed for deep relaxation. The picture shows also that you have a folding side table. The chair is heavy with its 24.8 lb (11.2 kg) of weight.
Final thoughts
So these are my best folding camping chairs with side table, as you realize the construction is very similar in all the models, but there are differences in the frame, legs design, folding mechanism, folded size, and in extra bonuses.
The chairs are either steel or aluminum, and some have extra features like a cooler or side storage pouches. This affects the price but in general, all of them are very affordable.

I like how you put the detailed measurements in your reviews. Unfortunately, as per the manufacturers, a person can be big or tall, but not big and tall. The average seat height from the ground is 18″ which is very difficult to sit down in and to get up out of especially if a person has any lower extremity issues. The same goes for household furniture also. A seat height of 22″ to 25″ would be ideal such as one of the CGI chairs, but that seat width is only 20″ whereas a width of 23″ to 25″ would be better. There are so many different shapes and sizes of people it is difficult to please all who use camp chairs. Thanks for your reviews.

Hello, I am very interested in the OzTent Gecko Camping Chair with Lumbar Support and Swivel Table. This chair looks like it would be the perfect chair for me. I have a disability cerebral palsy which makes it difficult for me to eat outside without a table in front of me the side tables do not work for me. I also need the lumbar support to maintain my balance. However, when I looked on Amazon, it said, “Currently unavailable.
We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.” I am hoping that this does not mean they are discontinuing their chair.
The other thing I noticed is that they sell the swivel table separately. I am assuming that it operates the same way that the table can either be in front of you or to the side. If that is the case, can this table be attached to another one of their chairs? If so, which chairs work with this table? How difficult is it to connect?

Hi Paul, no the chair is not discontinued, it is available right now on manufacturer’s site. On Amazon, the situation is very strange, sometimes this “currently unavailable” depends on your location, they detect the IP address from which you are reading. I know this for sure because of my own experience, so I asked people at several places in the US and the products were available for some of them.
As for the swivel table, it comes together with the chair. It is removable but I cannot say much if it can be used with some other chairs of this brand, most likely it cannot be used on their other chairs.
