What type of chair is this

So this is a folding chair with solid armrests and this means you have no assembly, it is ready in seconds. This is why I have included it in my list of best folding camping chairs.

Note that due to the solid armrests, it remains large in two dimensions when you fold it; the packed size is 33 x 22 x 5 inches (85 x 56 x 13 cm). But you realize, it becomes thin when packed so you can store it in narrow spaces.

This is also a full-back type, so the sling continues from the seat to the backrest. The chair comes with a bonus side table and an integrated cup holder.

Who is it for

Capacity-wise, the chair is quite typical with its 300 lb (136 kg) weight capacity. But this is more than what you have in this Coleman Deck Chair.

Weight-wise, this is a steel structure and this reflects in its weight which is 12 lb (5.44 kg). This is quite typical for such a type, but there are lighter aluminum options, just to know if this is critical to you. Size-wise, the proportions and dimensions of this chair are very good, it measures 25 x 25 x 35 inches (64 x 64 x 89 cm). Though the seat is quite low, it is 15 inches (38 cm) above the ground. The seat size is around 21 x 17 inches (53 x 43 cm). You will be able to compare this with its competitors in the comparison table below.

So from all this you realize that this is a portable chair yet bulky and a bit heavy, and you will need a car for its transportation.

Materials & construction

The frame is a powder-coated steel and I wish to point out the legs that are rather specific. This is a mix of what you can see in other chairs of this type. So the front part is with bars, but on the back you have a pair of feet with plastic cups. This is a floor-friendly design, and if you use it outside it will not sink.

The sling is with a mesh in the lumbar area and a 600D x 300D polyester in the rest, there is a light padding in the seat and in the backrest. The armrests are also padded.

Note that there is no much recline on the back, it is quite straight but comfortable.

The side table

This is a bonus here, and it folds independently from the chair, see the picture below. Its size is around 16 x 11 inches (41 x 28 cm). You have the cup holder and note also that it is notched to accommodate the mug handle.

Because the side table can be folded and the back of the chair is so straight, you can use it at the camping table just like an ordinary chair.
