What type of chair is this
The Kelty Lowdown is a folding construction so there is no assembly here, it is ready in seconds. The construction is very similar to the ALPS Mountaineering King Kong which you will see in the comparison table below.
You have 4 points on the ground where all support bars and legs converge. The structure is very stable and with wide plastic feet that perform well on a hard surface.
As mentioned above, the seat is padded and the same is on the back. The armrests are adjustable, there are straps on the back for this purpose, they are visible in the picture below.
Everything used in the construction is durable, the frame is steel and the fabric is 600D poly.
The chair is built in three colors and you also have a bonus insulated single cupholder with an adjustable structure to fit various sizes of caps and various objects. You can see it above, observe how wide it is.
Who is it for
The capacity of this chair is quite impressive, it can easily support up to 350 lb (158 kg). The seat depth is the same as in the King Kong but note that it is considerably lower, the seat is 12 inches (30 cm) above the ground.
With the weight of 7 lb 6 oz (3.4 kg), this is a portable chair but this is not a tool to carry long distances. If you need something to carry in the backpack, check this Helinox Chair One or the even lighter Helinox Chair Zero which is only 1.12 lb (0.51 kg) weight.
The carry bag
Th carry bag is a great feature of this system, you will see it in the video below. This is a really multi-functional piece that is padded and you can use it as a mat in the camp.

Final thoughts
So the Kelty Lowdown Camp Chair is a very comfortable item, and also very reliable as one can expect from Kelty. This is a nice design with a great balance between comfort and portability. But if you are very tall, it may be a bit low for you; in such a case check the King Kong chair given in the comparison table above.
