In this text you have a long list of the best double sleeping bags for camping that are suitable for double cots and double tent-cots, all quite unique and reliable.
Why this text
There are many double cots and double tent cots presented here in the site. They can be used with any single sleeping bag of course. But it may be convenient sometimes to use double sleeping bags on such sleeping platforms, either if you have a partner or if you are alone. I must say, I feel claustrophobic in sleeping bags, so I use double whenever possible.
Double camping cots are relatively heavy and you use the car for transportation, so the weight of the corresponding double bag is not so important. You would probably want to go for the most comfortable option. So here I give a list of very comfortable double sleeping bags. You can use them on a double cot in a larger family camping tent, or in a double tent-cot.

These are unique designs, and practically every model has something specific. An important thing to notice is a huge difference in prices – the difference between the most affordable and the most expensive bags here in the list is by a factor 10. So the prices are roughly in the range $40 – 400.
Some of the double bags in the list are relatively heavy, and almost all of them are suitable for car camping only, but there are a few exceptions.
1. Big Agnes Dream Island 15F Degree Double Wide Sleeping Bag
This is a very warm and roomy double sleeping bag which will keep you warm on your cot or in your tent-cot. The insulation is a high-quality synthetic fill so this makes it suitable for wet conditions.
On the bottom, you have a sleeve for the sleeping pad, just like several other models below in the list. You should use a pad with an appropriate R-value that corresponds to the bag rating. The temperature rating for this bag is 15 F (-9.4 C).
The hood is insulated and you also have built-in pillow pockets. It is suitable for people up to 6′ 6″. The weight is 9 lb 7 oz (4.28 kg) and the packed size is 13 x 23 inches (33 x 58.4 cm).
The shell is a nylon taffeta, the lining is cotton/polyester blend, and the bottom is nylon rip-stop. It can accommodate a pad of 50 x 78 inches (127 x 198 cm), or 2 pads 25 inches each.
2. Big Agnes King Solomon 15 Degree Sleeping Bag
This is a top-notch item with a water-repellent anti-microbial and anti-bacterial 600 fill Downtek insulation. The Insotect Flow vertical baffles are designed to keep the body heat moving efficiently next to your body.
The fill has been treated in order to become water repellent, and they have also used a water-repellent nylon shell for the bag. Note that the bottom is without insulation. This is because the insulation of sleeping bags normally loses its insulating features when pressed or compressed.
So you have two pad sleeves where you put sleeping pads. This is a good design because the sleeping pads are secured inside the sleeve and they remain fixed in place when you and your partner turn and roll in the bag. Due to the same reasons, the bag itself is fixed and will not twist during the sleep. You can use pads 20 x 72 inches.

3. Blackpine Sports Grizzly 2-Person Sleeping Bag
This is a hooded design and this tells you that you can expect a better protection and use this bag in a cooler environment. The bag is big, so you have a 90 x 65 inches (229 x 165 cm) construction, and the weight is 13 pounds (5.9 kg).
The shell is 100% polyester and inside you have a microfiber insulation. The lining is really cozy flannel and the bag is equipped with heavy-duty MAX double zippers.
The temperature rating they give is -25 to +25 F (-32 to -4 C) suitable for 3-season camping. This is due to a two-layer offset construction which preserves the warmth – this means that the seams don’t overlap so you have no cold spots. You have large wind-stop baffles along the zippers, and also thick chest baffles.

4. Browning Camping Side-by-Side 0 Degree Double Sleeping Bag
The picture above shows two bags, but this is the Browning Camping Side-by-Side 0 Degree Double Sleeping Bag that is a five-in-one system. So this is a very versatile product and you can use is as a double bag, as two single bags, and as a blanket.
The bag is built as a rectangular bag and you have a synthetic insulation, the bag is very durable and pleasant as usual with this brand. The weight is 12 lb 14 oz (5.84 kg) and the dimensions, when used as a double bag, are 80 x 68 inches (203 x 173 cm).
5. Coleman 3-in-1 45 Degree Double Adult Sleeping Bag
Let me first explain what they mean by 3-in-1. This means that you have a double sleeping bag when needed, but you can also unzip its bottom and the cover and then zip those into separate single bags. This is not the only example of this type here, you will see a few more below.
The hollow polyester insulation should keep you safe and warm in temperatures as low as 45 F (7 C). I would always add at least 5 degrees in such estimates. In any case, this is a bag for up to 2-season camping.
You have a built-in detachable sheet here which offers layering options. It can accommodate people up to 6 feet 4 inches in height, it is machine washable and it weighs 9.5 pounds (4.3 kg). Note that the bag is without a hood. The packed size is (L x D) 17.7 x 13.4 inches (45 x 34 cm).

6. Exped MegaSleep Duo 25 Sleeping Bag
This Exped MegaSleep Duo 20 is an incredibly versatile sleeping bag with a long list of features. So you have different temperature ratings on its two halves. This means when one half with 40 degree F rating is up, you have a summer sleeping bag. When the other side with 25 degree F rating is up, you have a 3-season sleeping bag.
But this is not all. You can unzip each half and use separately as two solo sleeping bags with two different temperature ratings. This is why they describe it as a 4-in-1 sleeping bag. However, both halves can also be used as two separate blankets, so this would make it a 6-in-1 system.

This is a unique design with two-layers. This means that you can unzip the upper layer and use only the inner blankets in a relatively warm environment. The zip-off top layer you can remove and use as a blanket when sitting in the camp, while your partner is still covered by the inner blankets.
The temperature rating for this bag is 20° F (-7° C). But for a comfort, you should add some 5 or 10 degrees. In any case, it is clearly suitable even for winter camping. 8. Nemo Jazz Duo 20-Degree Sleeping Bag
This Nemo Jazz Duo Sleeping Bag is a new model on the market which they introduced for the season 2019. As you realize from the picture, this is a really big sleeping bag that offers lots of comfort for two people. But you can use it also as a solo bag for camping in a double tent-cot.
The bag has some really interesting features. So you have an integrated sheet which is removable and you can wash it, you would use it in a very warm climate instead of the bag’s cover. The inner is a pleasant pillowtop and you also have an oversized hood.
The bag comes with integrated pad sleeves so it will stay fixed in place and will not twist with you when you turn during the night.
The insulation is synthetic and the official temperature rating is 20 F (-7 C), so this is a true 3-season sleeping bag. Note that it is bulky and a bit heavy, but this is built to be a camping bag so you will need it at places with a car access. Please follow the link to read a full review.
9. NEMO Tango duo 30 degree double wide slim
Here you have a 700 fill treated down, which means the down plumes are water resistant. The shell in the foot area is waterproof just in case of you rub against the wall of the tent cot.
This is again a bottomless design, so you have a sleeve for a sleeping pad on the bottom. You have baffles on both sides and around the underside of the pads and in the hood, all to save you from the cold draft from any side.
This is all very compact design, and this is partly due to the bottomless design. The is an ultra lightweight tool with 2 lb 9 oz (1162 g) of weight. It can accommodate 2 pads 20 inches each, in total 102 cm. The shell is 15D nylon ripstop, the liner is 30D nylon taffeta. The temperature rating for this bag is 30 F (-1 C).

10. Ohuhu Double Sleeping Bag With 2 Pillows
This is a clever design with the bottom part 86.6 x 59 inches (220 x 150 cm), and the cover 74.8 x 59 inches (190 x 150). So the bottom is 30 cm longer and this is the area where you would put pillows as you see from the picture above. In fact, it comes with two bonus pillows.
Such dimensions make it suitable for any of the double cots and double tent cots presented here in the site.
But this is not all. You have two zippers that run in the opposite directions, and you can detach the cover completely and then create two single sleeping bags shown in the picture. As you realize, even the shorter single bag is a good length 190 cm.
This is a very versatile tool so it is no surprise that it is so popular. There are more than 860 customers’ reports about this bag on Amazon, and the average rating is very high 4.3/5. See its price, it is only $43, so again, its popularity is easy to understand.
They write that this bag is designed for 23°F ( -5°C), but I would not take this seriously. This is a great summer camping bag and nothing more than that. If you need something for such temperatures, you will have to pay 8-10 times more, like the Big Agnes King Solomon bag shown above.
The shell material is 210T polyester and you have a cotton filling. It packs to (Lx D) 18.9 x 11.8 in (48 x 30 cm), and the weight is 6.08 lb (2.8 kg).
11. Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed Duo 600 2 Season
This is something unique and totally different from the other items here in the list. What you have here is an award-winning design.
The fill is DryDown duck down and this backcountry bed is without zippers. You have a big opening in the upper part, and an added blanket ‘comforter’ which has integrated hand-warmer pockets. This tool is suitable for 2-season camping, which means summer, late spring, and early autumn, for the temperatures above 33 F (1 C).
This tool is also ultra light, with 3 lb 15 oz (1.786 kg) of weight, and the packed size is 9 x 16 inches (22.9 x 40.6 cm). The shell is 30D polyester ripstop and the liner is 30D polyester taffeta. It is suitable for 6 feet (183 cm).

12. Sleepingo Double Sleeping Bag For Backpacking, Camping, Or Hiking
There is no bag here in the list that can come close to this double bag when it comes to popularity. If you check the link below, you will realize that it has received more than 2300 customers’ reports and reviews on Amazon. But wait till you see the average rating – it is simply incredible 4.8/5.
So let’s see what is really behind its popularity. No doubt, the price is a factor – currently, it costs only $58, so this is one of the most affordable sleeping bags for two people here in the list.
This bag is also very lightweight, only around 5 pounds 10 ounces (2.55 kg), and this is also quite extraordinary in view of its size. The dimensions are impressive 87 x 59 inches (221 x 150 cm), who would say for such an incredible weight.
But I would not say this is a backpacking tool as they indicate in the title used on Amazon.
The official temperature rating for this bag is 32 F (0 C), but this is far from reality. This is a bag for summer camping only.
There are bonuses here. So you have 2 pillows included. But this is not all – the two parts of the bag can be separated and you can use them as 2 separate single sleeping bags. Now, this is really something good to have and this is also partly behind its popularity.
The bag features a soft inner cotton liner and a durable external shell. All in all, this is a very versatile and nicely built bag.
13. TETON Sports Mammoth Queen Size Sleeping Bag
This is one of the most popular double sleeping bags on the market. If you check on Amazon, you will realize that it has received more than 1270 customers’ reports, and the average rating is simply incredible 4.6/5.
Now, knowing these facts let’s see what makes it so popular. I would start with its gigantic size, so you have 94 x 62 inches (239 x 157 cm) here. Clearly, it is suitable even for extremely tall people, and it is so wide that it can accommodate parents with a kid inside.
But there is much more here. You can choose among 6 colors, and you also have two temperature rating options, either +20°F (-7°C) or 0°F (-18°C). In both options you have a hollow fibers fill and it works nicely and traps the air inside.
The packed size and the weight depend on the temperature rating of course, the amount of fill is not the same. So you have 14 lb (6.35 kg) for the first option and 16.5 lb (7.5 kg) for the second.
This sleeping bag is so large that it may be too big for some of the double cots. But it will work well with the Cabela’s Double Tent Cot and the KingCamp Double Cot.
The bag has been on the market for several years already. The materials are very pleasant and it is no surprise it is so popular. But see also its price, for such a giant and for such features you pay only around $127.

14. TETON Sports Fahrenheit Mammoth Double Sleeping Bag
This double sleeping bag is very similar to its more famous cousin above. The dimensions are the same, and also the temperature rating is the same, so here too you have either +20°F (-7°C) or 0°F (-18°C) option.
There is a difference in weight so you have 15 lb (6.8 kg) and 16.5 lb (7.5 kg) for the two options. This is not substantial, but the reason behind the difference is the liner material. So you have a cotton lining in this Fahrenheit Mammoth bag, and it is thus a fuzzy, soft, and warm feeling when you are in the bag.
The current price is in the range $110 – 150 dependent on the temperature rating. So this is again a really fair price for such a great tool. The ratings by Amazon customers are very positive, the average value is incredibly high 4.6/5.

15. TETON Sports Tracker +5F Double-Wide Sleeping Bag
Here you have a mummy-style in the double bag, so the hoods are narrow and the feet area is tapered as well. The dimensions are 87 x 63 inches (221 x 160), and the feet width it is 44 inches (112 cm). Its weight is 8.2 lb (3.7 kg), so it is much lighter than the other two Teton Sports bags above, and the reason is its tapered profile.
But as you realize, at the shoulder area it is as wide as the other two bags above, so this is again a very comfortable option. Though the insulation is different as well, so you have an innovative PolarLite insulation, which is more efficient in keeping you warm.
This is a very warm design with no gap hoods that fit perfectly around the faces. It has a vaulted foot-box with an extra layer of fill to keep feet warm. The temperature rating for this bag is 5 F (-15 C). The weight is 8.2 pounds (3.7 kg).

16. X-CHENG Double Sleeping Bag – Converts into 2 Singles
Here again, you have something really handy – this big double bag can be unzipped completely and its two sides can be used separately as two single bags. So this is really clever and very useful, similar to what you have seen in the Ohuhu bag above.
But here you have two stuff sacks for the single bags, and you also have two bonus pillows.
Back to the double bag which is the topic here, it is very wide but not particularly long. Good if you are a short person, why to carry unnecessary length, right? So the dimensions are 75 x 63 inches (191 x 160 cm). Such dimensions make it a great bag to use together with the Outsunny Double Cot, and also with several tent-cots like the Tangkula 2 Person Tent Cot and also the Kamp Rite Double Tent Cot.
But if you use the single bags separately, they will fit any of the camping cots presented here in the site.
This bag is machine washable, built from a polyester outer shell and a premium quality synthetic filling.
Though not all is perfect here; note that the pillows are really small and practically useless. Also, the bag is without a hood, so this is fine if you use it in a warmer climate but bear this in mind if you plan to use it in a cooler environment.
But see its Amazon rating – it is simply unbelievable. The bag gas received a perfect score 5.0/5 based on 280 customers’ reviews. I guess the important reason is its price which is only $50.
They write it is for -32 F (-36 C), so my warning is – do not even think of using it at such temperatures. This statement cannot possibly be taken seriously. In the answers they gave to one Amazon customer they say 32 F (0 C) – even this is far from the comfort with such a bag. This is a great tool but for summer camping only.
How to choose
You have many very different options presented above, so now the question is how to choose.
Obviously, there are many things that you might want to consider, but I guess the most important is the temperature rating.
So take with a grain of salt the statements by some of the manufacturers about the temperature rating. In many cases, those are not realistic. Add at least 5 degrees or even better 10 degrees, to the values which some of them give. But even if their rating is accurate, note that such a rating is determined by a “standard man” and a “standard woman”, and how these are defined you can see in my separate text.
These ratings cannot apply to everybody, the temperature feeling is different for different people, and there is a difference also with respect to men and women.
I already mentioned above the big differences in prices. So indeed, you would not want to spend too much if you need a bag for occasional summer camping only.
There are some features that are essential if you plan to use the bag in a cold environment. The hood is important for such a case, baffles along the zippers keep the warmth in, a narrower feet zone will also increase the warmth, etc.
Versatility is something to consider as well; you have seen several models that are the 3-in-1 type. So this is really cool and very useful, but this is only for the bags that are built for a mild climate and summer camping.
This text is about bags for double cots and double tent-cots, but the models presented above are suitable for any use of course. You can use them in large family camping tents for sleeping on the floor or on air mattresses.
But if you use them on cots, you might need some suitable sleeping pads as well, in particular if you are going to use them in a cold environment.
