Tangkula 2 Person Tent Cot is a foldable off ground sleeping tool which provides enough space for couples and full protection from elements.
Key benefits
- Full protection from elements.
- Off-ground sleeping.
- Very reasonable price.
- Carry bag.
What type is this
The Tangkula 2 Person Tent Cot is a folding tool, which means that in the packed state it preserves two relatively large dimensions. Its packed size is 49 x 32 x 8 inches (124 x 81 x 20 cm) and it comes with a carry bag for storing at home and for transportation.
Note that the same brand has also a single version described in my another post.
Who is it for
The mentioned packed size and the weight of 40 lb (18.14 kg) determine the best use and users of this tent-cot. You certainly need a car for transportation, and you should be strong enough to take it out of the car and to set it up. But this all is doable by one person only, and the setup is truly simple.
Sizewise, the cot is quite long, 81.5 inches (207 cm), so it is suitable even for very tall people. But the width of 46.5 inches (118 cm) is not so impressive.
The bed deck is 12 inches (30 cm) above the ground, so you have a lot of protected space underneath it for gear. See all its dimensions in this picture:
Overview
The tent
This is a two-layer structure, with the inner tent which has openings on all 4 sides, and a fly. Both are the same material, 420D Oxford. The inner tent is with two doors on the longer sides, and two windows on the shorter sides. Clearly, they all can be used as doors as long as the fly is not on. All openings are with micro mosquito mesh, so you have a great ventilation and protection.
When the fly is on, you have two doors, one on each longer sides. In this case, the ventilation is not so great, though you have the vents on the fly. The roof is elevated with the two poles so you have a peak height of 31 inches (79 cm).
The frame and bed
You have a sturdy aluminum frame, so the bed is 12 inches (30 cm) above the ground. You can set it up literally anywhere, with its 4 bars on the ground it will not sink regardless of what kind of ground is underneath the cot. The bed deck fabric is 600D waterproof Oxford, quite typical for most of the cots presented here in the site.
They show the bed used as a cot, so indeed, you can put a mattress and use this as an emergency bed at home.
Awning configuration
When the fly is on, it may not be so pleasant inside, although you have a small vent on the fly. But they have added a pair of poles to use for the awning setup with one of the doors. So this can be kept open even if it is raining outside.
Using it with sleeping pads
In warm conditions, you do not need any pad, except for extra comfort. There are many double pads that you can use with such a bed, and I would point out this Klymit Double V pad. In a cold environment, like on high elevations, you might need some insulated pad, so again you have this great Klymit Insulated Double V pad.
Note that there are double bags as well, so have a look here, there are several great models presented in detail.
What is in the package

Summary
In the conclusion of this Tangkula 2 Person Tent Cot review to stress again that this is a complete sleeping system which you can use in any environment and in all seasons. The comparison table above shows its really affordable price which is hard to match.
Note that it is just a bit more expensive than their single tent-cot, so it is a good idea to use it as a solo tool; it will allow you for extra space inside for clothes and gear. You might want to use a sleeping pad inside so check this list with the top-notch double sleeping pads.
Thank you for reading. Please use the comment box below if you have any question or comment. I wish you a nice day.
Ok so i didn’t see a price im in florida how long would it take to get one.
I think it is not available right now, but the link is in the text. There is yet another very similar from Kamp-Rite, you have it in the comparison table given in the text. This one should be available. As for the shipping, this depends on the seller.
Does this have a bar in the middle of the bed surface?
No, the central bar is in those double tent cots and double cots that are described as compacts. Folding models like this are without it.
Hi, is the rainfly 100% waterproof, I’m thinking of the downpours we have here in the UK
Hi Chris, they do not give an official waterproof rating for any of their tent cots. But as far as I know it works well in rain and have not heard anybody having such issues.
Hey Jovo,
Did you have any issue with one or both sides not staying flat? When I try to set mine up whenever I push one side down, the other raises up, and if I try and get in it, it folds in on itself and collapses.
Thanks.
Hi Ian, I assume this is about the bars/legs. There should be straps which you use to fix the legs. Please see these two videos in my text about Kamp Rite double cot, the design is the same. The second video shows the correct way.
Thank you for writing this excellent review. Can you tell me if you can enter/exit through the ends as well as the sides? Also, I know the overall width is 46.5” but can you tell me the exact width of just the support legs, side to side? Thank you
Hi Wayne, thank you. Yes you can enter from any of the 4 sides. Though those front and back openings are a bit narrower but definitely, no difference between “doors” and “windows”. As for the width, it is practically the same, the legs are attached to the frame above so they share the same width. If any difference, this is in millimeters.
