This Kelty Essential Camping Chair is a folding type, and this means it comes ready to use and there is no assembly of any kind. You open or close this chair in seconds.
It has been on the market for several years already so there are many reports about it at various online sellers’ sites, and the chair is highly rated by users.
For transportation you have their unique roll-tote storage shown in the picture below. As you see, it has three straps with buckles and a nice shoulder strap.

Note that this roll-tote carry item is padded and this is on purpose. You can use it as a camping mat to sit on the ground, or you can use it as a mat for your dog.
The chair itself is lightly padded as well all over the seat and the backrest. It comes with soft and padded armrests and on one side you have a large bottle holder.
The armrests are adjustable. They have straps on the back for this purpose so you can adjust the angle, but they are fixed on the front where you have a bar for support.

Materials
The frame is a powder-coated steel construction, and on all four sides you have those X-crossed support bar. This makes the chair very stable and sturdy. Note that the feet are wide so the chair will not easily sink if you use it on a soft ground.
The fabric is a durable 600D polyester, and from pictures you see that they have two different colors. The same is with the mentioned roll-tote carry tool.

Who is it for
Regarding the capacity, the chair is quite typical with its 300 lb (136 kg) official capacity. So this should be good enough for most of users. But if you need more please check my list of camping chairs for heavy people.
Regarding the dimensions, they are (L x W x H) 21 x 21.5 x 37 inches (53 x 55 x 94 cm) so this is again a decent size. Note that the seat is a bit low, the height is 16.5 inches (42 cm).
Regarding the weight, it cannot be described as particularly light, but the weight is typical for such camping chairs, it weighs 7 lb (3.18 kg).
You have seen how it looks when rolled up. So the packed size is 36.5 x 7.6 x 6.8 in (93 x 19 x 17 cm), a bit bulky but this is normal to expect here.
Regarding the price, I think it is fair for a chair with such features and from such a globally know brand. Kelty as a brand has been around for more than half a century already.

So this Kelty Essential Camping Chair is very typical for Kelty. They have a collection built in the same style. This includes single, double, and triple chairs, you will find them here in the site. It is hard to believe, but they even have a 12-seat chair, the Kelty Cheeky Dozen.
All in all this is a very reliable, easy to use, and affordable outdoor chair. I particularly like its roll-tote carry system, you can use it in various ways. Fully recommended.
