Kamp Rite Compact collapsible tent cot is a true interchange 3-in-1 type, suitable for campers, hikers, mountaineers and for various other activities.
Description
Kamp Rite Compact collapsible tent cot is one of my favorites, and the main reason is its 3-in-1 features. So what you have here is a true interchange tool:
- You have a nice size cot and a tent.
- Both can be used separately.
- Both can be used together.
It should not be mixed with the XL version which they have, with the same features but larger.
This is a structure with one door and two windows on its narrow sides. The windows are with mesh and the door has both mesh and a panel.
Note that on Amazon the official name for this product is with the word ‘backpacking’. This may look strange in view of the overall weight which is 25 lb (11.3 kg).
However, as mentioned above, the tent can be used on its own. So you can have all the system in the camp close to the car, and for some shorter tours around you can take the tent alone.
This is a great off the ground sleeping system, so you feel warmer and more comfortable. The bed is around 20 inches above the ground so you can pitch the system anywhere.
This sleeping system comes with two carry bags, one is to carry the tent in the pack and the other is for the entire unit. You also have a mesh storage hammock on the cot’s base, see the pictures.

My rating, price, pros & cons
The poles are fiberglass so this is not a particularly durable material. But the frame is strong, this is all steel.
Note that the words ‘compact’ and ‘collapsible’ imply that it packs small, so the carry bag shown above is a tube that measures around 43 x 10 x 9 inches (109 x 25 x 23 cm). But the cot requites some small assembly, you have to add those roof poles.
The link below shows the price for two of them, it is updated daily so please follow it to see more.

Conclusion
Kamp Rite Compact collapsible tent cot is a great and versatile tool. Its 3-in-1 feature is what makes is particularly attractive if you are a mountaineer and hiker. I have added it to my list of best single cot-tents.
But if you need something different, like tent-cots strictly for camping, bigger models, or just some other brand, please see elsewhere in this site. One model for two people you can see here. Note also that there exists an XL version of this model.
It will be great to hear from you, there is a comment box below. Thank you for reading and have a nice day.
Hey man,
I really like tent and I think it is one of the best ones. I personally own one and I can say great things about mine. When I go camping I take it with me and it is completely waterproof and safe. I also like that I have had it for a long time and they are durable.
What other tents do you recommend?
Hi Emmanuel, great to hear from you. So you have a lot of experience with this KR Compact tools, I agree with what you are saying about it. In particular 3-in-1 feature is what I find very useful. As for others, I suggest you to see Winterial Oversize, this is a double cot tent, with a nice awning. And if you would like s solo model again then definitely this Therm-a-Rest tent cot, totally unique on on the market. This is something you can carry in the backpack, only 2.66 kg, both tent and the cot.
