What type of outdoor chair is this
This Lounger DL Camping Chair is full of features, so to start by stressing that this is a fully collapsible chair. This is both good and bad.
The good is that it packs nicely in its included stuff sack and such a packed size is only (L x D) 23 x 7 inches (58 x 18 cm). Note that the carry bag has an adjustable shoulder strap so you can carry it around.
The bad is that this implies an assembly when you want to use it. But this is a shock-corded frame and all you have to do is to form the frame and put the seat fabric on it. This is done in seconds and without any tool.
The chair is lightweight, and I have included it in my list of best collapsible camping chairs.
Nore also that this is Amazon’s Choice product, and this means “highly rated, well-priced product available to ship immediately.”
The legs here are quite unique from several aspects. You will notice that the distance between the front legs and the distance between the back legs is very different.
But the lags are also folding type. This means you can have two different lengths, 10 and 3 inches. The picture above shows the legs folded. In this configuration, it becomes a tripod. So the overall footprint is small and this may be useful if you use it in narrow spaces, like on a boat.
Note that the folded segments with their feet lock into the horizontal bars, there are cuts in the feet body which allows for this. Such folded segments serve as extra contact with the ground.
The chair looks quite different with the two lengths, see the pictures below. The picture on the right is the tripod setup with folded legs. Observe also that in both situations you have large feet, so they will not sink easily in the ground. But if you use the chair on the sand, you will definitely want to use it in its low setup, otherwise the legs will sink.
Because of such a unique design, I have included this chair in my list of chairs with extendable legs.
The backrest is high so the chair offers a good headrest, here they have added a pillow for extra cushion, see the picture below. So the chair is in my list of chairs with headrest.
The sides are also interesting, you have soft armrests with additional padding practically all the way to the head pillow above, this is also a unique feature, see the picture.
The chair also comes with 2 mesh storage pouches, one on each side, they are very large and stretchy and you can store a lot of stuff inside, like books and similar items. You also have one bottle/cup holder on the side.
Who is it for
Weight-wise, in view of its 4.63 lb (2.1 kg), I would describe it as lightweight and its packed size is not so bad as you have seen above, but this is not a chair for the trail. If this is what you need, please check my list with ultralight backpacking chairs.
Size-wise, the chair is with a high back and you have a feeling of being in a hammock. But it may be narrow for bigger users.
Capacity-wise, the chair is with a rather modest declared capacity of only 250 lb (113 kg). So bear this in mind if you are a heavy person and check some other options available here in the site.
The frame is a shock-corded 6061 anodized aluminum alloy. It looks a bit complicated with its triangle and those folding legs, but all the elements are permanently connected and you have nothing to guess, and you cannot lose any part of it. But it is fair to say that quite a number of users were complaining that the setup was not particularly easy.
The tubes in the frame are surprisingly thick for such a weight, and there are also lots of massive plastic hubs and feet caps. Bear in mind also the padding on the top and in the armrests. So I am impressed with this construction/weight combination.
The seat and the backrest fabric is a strong 210D ripstop nylon, and the pouches are a stretch mesh material. The cup holder is not so great really, a bit too wide and floppy.

Eagles Nest Outfitters Lounger DL Camping Chair vs Competitors
So I am showing this Lounger DL Chair side by side with two other chairs that are also with headrest, portable, and fully collapsible. Obviously, they have fewer features, and this is why they are lighter, but they also have their good sides.
The MARCHWAY Lightweight Folding High Back Camping Chair is incredibly affordable and nicely packable. The Helinox Playa Chair is very expensive but top quality and with a good capacity.

ENO brand is famous for their hammocks, but they have built this Eagles Nest Outfitters Lounger DL Camping Chair which offers a feeling of being in a hammock. This is a very comfortable and innovative design with its two possible legs’ heights. The low height setup allows for using the chair even on a very soft terrain.
If you need more options to consider, please check under the category Camping Chairs. You might want to know that they have yet another similar chair but without the legs extensions, the Eagles Nest Outfitters Lounger SL Camp Chair.
