What this is about

This Eureka Highback Recliner Camping Chair is a new item they launched for the season 2019. So do not mix it with a chair they had under a similar name around 5 years ago.

So this a folding chair of a particular type. When you want to pack it, you first detach the headrest section and fold it, and then fold the rest of the chair. This picture shows it with the headrest folded:

This allows you to pack it into its carry bag which is nicely designed with a shoulder strap:

So the chair needs a simple assembly when you want to use it. But this only implies attaching the head section to the frame, see the picture below, and then unfolding the chair, this is done in seconds. When you attach the top part there is a pop-up button that keeps it in place:

This is a chair with a very high back section and you have a headrest with some extra padding. This is why I have included it into my list with the best chairs with headrest. The material on the back is a ventilated mesh and a very pleasant faux leather in the head section.

But as you realize from the picture above, the chair also has solid but padded armrests. The material which you see on the armrests is a cork-look EVA foam.

As mentioned above, this is also a recliner chair, so I have included it in my list of reclining camping chairs. The picture below shows the lowest position, out of three possible. So as you realize, it does not become flat, and if you need something of that type please check this Vingli chair.

Who is it for

Regarding the capacity, this is quite a typical chair with the declared capacity of 300 lb (136 kg). The frame is a rugged steel and it looks as if it could support much more. But if you need something much stronger check our separate ist with extra strong camping chairs.

Regarding the size, you will notice that this is an exceptionally tall chair, and the overall dimensions are rather impressive (W x D  x H) 34 x 24 x 46.5 in (86 x 61 x 118 cm).

Regarding the weight, with its 12 lb 4 oz  (5.6 kg) the chair looks heavy, but this is almost a typical weight for such a size. You will see it compared with some other chairs, there is a comparison table below.

The packed size is 39.5 x 7.5 x 6.5 inches (100 x 19 x 17 cm), so in view of this and its weight, you will need a car for transportation.

With its three reclining positions it will be useful for relaxing in the camp and also to sit at your camping table as well.

The feet are with wide plastic caps, but I would not use it in a large floored family camping tent without some extra protection for the floor. This holds in particular if the ground under the tent is soft.

My rating, pros & cons

This chair is on the market with a price shown in the link below. So this looks a bit expensive for a chair but it offers a lot and this is a reliable brand.
