Trailhead II Cot – description
Typically, portable and collapsible camping cots are rather narrow, and many of them are described in this site, but this is not the case with the Trailhead II. Here, you have the width just like in any standard bed. So this is a comfortable cot which also offers clearance of 17 inches (43 cm) between your body and the cold ground.
The cot is known also under the name the Coleman Trailhead II military-style cot, which indicates its strong and supportive construction based on the steel X-frame with 6 legs and 4 side poles. Note that there is no any central bar to cause you trouble. As you see from the picture above, the bed fabric is in the camo style.
The set up is really easy and it can be done in a minute or two, and it packs into its carry bag for an easy transport and storage. So it does not take much space in the closet at home or when you transport it in the car trunk.
The design includes the very useful storage space on the side, with multiple side pockets all the way down the length of the cot.
My rating, pros & cons
This cot has received great rating my Amazon customers, and this is not surprising when you see its price. Note that this is an Amazon Prime product, and also Amazon’s Choice item. So you can have it shipped for free, and it is available immediately.
It is indeed quite wide and I find this great. For me, the length is also good enough, but its 190 cm of length may not be enough for tall people. If you are very tall, you might want to check the Kamp-Rite Oversize Kwik Cot shown in the comparison table below.
The very useful side storage pockets add extra value to this cot. But note that there is a slightly cheaper option without side pockets available on Amazon. So make sure that you order the right item, I have seen some people complaining about this issue. Obviously they made a mistake.

So to conclude this Coleman Trailhead II Camping Cot review, I love the fact that this cot is so nicely collapsible. This makes all the difference in the world when you have to fit it into the car trunk or to store it at home. And I must say, the price tag with this tool is exceptional.
This is a steel construction, so it is a bit heavy but still portable, very similar to the Byer of Maine Easy Cot. If you want something far lighter, check the Helinox High cot, but then see the price. If you need more classic-style foldable cots, there are several in this list.
