What is in the name

There are several tent cots of this type presented here in the site. Some of them look almost identical so I suspect they come from the same factory.

This Uboway tent cot is a 2-in-1 system. By this I mean the following:

1. You can use it as a complete system for outdoor sleeping, which means tent plus cot.
2. You can unzip the tent and use the cot alone in any other bigger tent.

They write that “it not only can be a tent, but also can be a separate leisure bed.” I am not sure what they want to say, but it is very hard to imagine how this tool could be used as a tent alone. When you unzip it from the bed, it is bottomless. You might somehow use its pole and the fly only but it would be tough to make it stand without the cot. So I think the two main ways of using it are given above and this is more than enough to me.

Note that you have one main pole only, plus the brow pole which makes the side walls vertical, see the picture. The role of this short pole is very important: as soon as you attach the mesh tent to the poles, the structure becomes freestanding. This is due to the tension created by the tent fabric and due to the fact that the tent is anchored (zipped) to the bed.

Who is it for

Seasons-wise, they write that this is a 4-season tent. I think this cannot possibly be taken seriously. This is a single-pole structure which is not able to withstand any bigger pressure from any side.

So this is a nice sleeping system but for very moderate weather conditions, preferably for summer camping only.

Sizewise, the cot is 79 x 26 inches (200 x 66 cm). This looks like a long structure but if used with the tent, you can see that the walls are angled in the feet and the head area, so you will be touching the inner tents in both zones if you are a tall person.

But if you use the cot alone, this is then really a great length. The width is not the best side of this system.

As you realize from the picture above, the bed is without end bars, so this all is a useful length, there are no pressure spots on your feet. Note also that there are no bars underneath the bed deck either.

Weight-wise, you have the whole system with a weight of 6.3 lb (2.86 kg). So this is definitely backpack portable. In my another text I have made a comparison table between such a system from one side, and a tent plus a sleeping pad for sleeping on the ground from the other side. I am convinced that the extra weight which you have here in this tent-cot structure is worth the effort, but have a look here you will see some lighter options of this type.

The system is nicely packable, you have the package of 22 x 5.9 x 5.9 inches (56 x 15 x 15 cm). So this all can be transported in any way you want, in the backpack, on a bicycle, in a kayak, on a motorbike, etc.

The materials

The inner tent fabric is 15D nylon, and the fly is also 15D nylon. The tent poles, the bed side bars, and the legs are 7001 aerospace aluminum.

But there is no information about the waterproof rating.

My rating, pros & cons

The Amazon price for this sleeping system is quite high so this is not the most affordable option on the market. See how I rate it:
