What this cot is about

Cots are normally in two main groups, collapsible that need assembly, and folding that need no assembly. The latter type implies that all the elements are pre-attached to each other and you simply unfold the cot in seconds. So this is what you have here. 

This is also one of those that become thin but a bit long in one dimension when packed. The picture below shows the included carry bag, and its dimensions are 38 x 6 x 5 inches (97 x 15 x 13 cm).

As you see, it comes with a shoulder strap and with a loop on the top. So you can carry it for shorter distances.

Materials

The frame is steel and you realize that there are angled support bars in the corners, so this adds a lot to its stability. Even the two legs in the middle are reinforced. The bed fabric is a strong 600D  ripstop polyester.

Observe that the feet are with plastic caps, but they are very small and narrow. So this is not the best feature of this cot. If you use it in a floored family camping tent, you will definitely need to add something underneath the feet for floor protection.

Who is it for

Regarding the size, this cot is quite typical with its bed size of 75 x 25.5 inches (191 x 65 cm). I find it a bit narrow. As for the length, note that there are no end-bars in this design so the given length is the true useful length.

But observe that the cot is quite high, you have  17.5 inches (44 cm). So this is lots of volume and space to store your camping gear, and it is also easier for elderly users to get in and out of the cot. On the other hand, with such a height, this cot will not fit in very low tents.

Regarding the capacity, it is again quite typical with its official 300 lb (136 kg) weight capacity. But if you need more, please check my list of cots for heavy people.

Regarding the weight, this cot is on the heavy side with its 16 lb 9 oz (7.5 kg). In view of its packed size mentioned above, the cot is for places with a car access.

Using this cot in a tent

I already mentioned the feet that may damage the tent’s floor, and also the fact that it is high. Normally, in a warmer part of the year you do not need a sleeping pad with such a cot, but you might want to use one for extra comfort, cots may be too hard for some users.

For insulation, in a cold environment you can add an insulated pad, but being so much off the ground you need far less insulation as compared with sleeping on the ground.
