What this is about
Here you have a solo version from the brand which launched two cot-tents built in the same style. The two-person version is presented in my separate text.
So this solo version includes two separate elements, a solo tent and a solo camping cot. They are designed to be used both together and separately. This is what makes it incredibly versatile and unique on the market.
Here are the ways of using this product, at least four in total:
1. Standard tent-cot or cot-tent
When used together, this is an elevated outdoor sleeping shelter which you can set anywhere and still be fully protected from the elements. The picture below shows how this can look in a camp.
Observe that you have an option to create an awning as in the picture, with a pair of bonus poles included for this purpose.
2. Cot used alone
The picture below shows how the cot looks. This is a folding construction, and very easy to use.
As you realize, it is built as a typical military-type cot, with a frame around, and with 6 feet. What you do not see are its dimensions, so have a look below, and you will realize that this is one of the largest cots on the market:

3. Tent used on its own as a standard ground tent
So this is a solo tent that can be used on its own on the ground. In this case you have a vestibule created on one side. The picture below shows how it looks.
Observe that this is an instant setup tent. So the frame is pre-attached to the inner tent. You have telescopic poles that create an A-frame shape, see the picture:
The tent is a true double-layer type as you realize, with the inner taffeta layer and a full coverage fly.
Note that the tent on Amazon is ordered as a separate package, but they sell it at the same place where they offer the cot. The tent package includes the following elements:
4. The cot and the inner tent set used in a larger camping tent
In this case you do not use the fly that comes in the tent’s package. You use the inner tent with its integrated frame, plus the cot, and this all inside of a larger family camping tent. This is shown in the picture below.
With this setup you have a larger covered space for your day activities, and during the night you have a fully enclosed shelter for sleeping.
Materials & construction
They use quite durable materials. So the fly is an anti-UV and waterproof 210D oxford polyester. They claim it provides UPF50+ UV protection protection. This is maximum you can have in a tent.
It is not clear to me what its waterproof rating is, but from the statements at the brand’s site it seems it is in the range 2000-3000 mm.
The inner tent is a 75D 190T polyester taffeta. The tent floor is a durable 300D oxford with waterproof rating of 3000 mm. Some features are shown graphically in the pictures:
The tent frame includes thick steel tubes with 16 and 22 mm diameter, and two short roof fiberglass poles with a 8.5 mm diameter. Some of its details you can see in the picture below.
The cot frame is a steel, and the bed fabric is a quite standard 600D 86T oxford cloth.

Ventilation
As with any standard tent, ventilation is very important. So no worry, the inner tent is a breathable taffeta, but they have added venting options on all the sides.
So you have closable triangular mesh vents on the narrow sides, one shown below, plus a larger mesh vent on the longer side of the tent. In addition the door also provides ventilation.
The fly also has vent that match these opening on the inner tent. They are on three sides of the tent. The picture below shows the tent-cot with its awning and with side vents open.
Who is this Naturehike Cot Tent for Camping for
Regarding the weight capacity, it is a bit modest for a cot of such a size. It supports up to 265 lb (120 kg). If you need more, please check this OZTENT Bunker Pro.
Regarding the dimensions, you have already seen the bed size, so this is simply amazing. It is both long and wide, so if you are a tall person and also want lots of space to sprawl, this is the tent-cot to choose.
Regarding seasons, weather and climate, you have a double-layer tent and its waterproof rating is huge. The tent’s frame included strong steel tubes, and you have plenty of stakes and guylines to fix it to the ground.
So this is a shelter that can be used in all seasons. When you also add its cot into picture, you realize that you can set it for sleeping almost anywhere.
In warm weather, you have plenty of venting options, and you can also use its awning when the sky is clear and it is not windy.
Regarding the weight, you have two items and they are both heavy, see the numbers below. But this is for car camping so the weight is not a big deal.
The packed dimensions are more important, and they are very good. This is a compact item.
Regarding the price, the cot and tent are sold separately, and I find the cot quite expensive. But the tent’s price is indeed fair.
