What this Naturehike Cot Tent is about
This structure is a unique 4-in-1 design and it can be used in several different ways. The meaning of this is described as follows:
1. Standard cot-tent or tent-cot
Here you have a unique set that includes a 2-person tent and a 2-person-cot. So you can use them as a standard cot-tent or tent-cot as in the top picture above, and you have an elevated outdoor sleeping system.
2. The tent alone
The tent can also be used on its own as a standard ground two-person tent, as in the picture below.
But this is not an ordinary tent. Here you have a strong frame that is pre-attached to the tent.
So this is an instant setup structure with telescopic poles. See some details in the picture:
The tent is a true double-layer construction. So you have a full taffeta inner tent, plus a full coverage massive fly.
Note that the fly creates two vestibules. This means when you use the tent separately, you have plenty of space for storage of your gear. Some numbers for the tent alone are shown below.
3. Inner tent & cot in a larger camping tent
As mentioned, you have a true double layer tent here, and the inner tent is pre-attached to the tent’s frame. These two can be used attached to the cot and then placed in any large enough family camping tent as shown in the picture.
You can decide to do this if you want to have much more protected space under your canopy. This may be if you know you will have lots of rain so you will be forced to stay under the shelter more than usual. So you will have more protected area for cooking and for other daily activities.
But when it is time to sleep, you will still be completely protected from insects and from the elements under the inner canopy.
4. Cot alone
Similar to the situation described above, you can use cot alone in a larger camping tent. But it can be used also for sudden guests at home. This is a huge sleeping platform as you realize from the picture.
Other details
Awning setup: The package includes a set of two poles which you use to create an awning.
This can be done on either side of the shelter, and you can do this also no matter how you use it, as a ground tent, or as a cot-tent in the picture below.
The picture below shows both doors, one for each person, and you realize you can roll them to the side and keep out of way.
Ventilated design: The inner tent is a breathable taffeta. But they have added two mesh sections on the two narrow sides, one is shown below. As you see, it is fully closable. You have a zipper to close this if you feel cold.
These inner vents are matched with the vents on the fly. You can see them in the pictures shown previously. You can stake them out and keep open, but you can also close them if you feel cold.
So there is nothing really to object regarding ventilation, they have done this the best possible way for such a double-layer construction.
Materials
All the elements in the package are shown in the picture below. You have a carry bag included for transportation. Note again, the tent’s frame is wrapped with the tent.
As you realize, you have plenty of ropes and stakes to secure the shelter to the ground.

The tent fabric
The fabric is impressive, durable, and strong, see what you have:
- The tent floor is a 300D oxford cloth with a waterproof rating of 3000 mm. So if you use the tent on the ground, you will be safe.
- The full coverage fly is a 210D oxford cloth with silver coating, and they claim it is with UPF50+ UV protection.
- The inner tent is a 75D 190T polyester.
The poles, stakes and cot
Tent poles are 8.5 mm diameter fiberglass combined with very thick and strong 16 and 22 mm iron used for the telescopic poles. The roof pole is also iron. You have 18 steel stakes in the package.
The cot fabric is a 600D polyester o this is a standard material, and the cot frame is iron. There are 9 feet on the ground so the weight is distributed, therefore it will not easily sink in the ground, no matter where you use it.
Who is it for
Regarding the capacity, I would describe it as modest, but this is still good for most of potential users. You have more in the Timber Ridge 2 Person Quick Setup Full Fly Cot Tent, just to know.
Regarding the dimensions, note that the cot is exceptionally long. So if you are a tall person, this is a tent-cot for you. See some numbers below.
The width is also impressive, plenty of space for two people. Some numbers are given below. There is a central bar, bear this in mind, so you cannot sleep in the middle.
Observe that you have long vestibules on the sides, this is a useful space for storage when the tent is used on the ground. Otherwise, you have a huge area underneath the cot where all your gear will be fully protected.
Regarding seasons, weather and climate, you have already seen its two-layer construction for protection from the cold.
At the same time, you have plenty of adjustable options for ventilation, so the shelter will work well in any climate.
The structure is over 170 cm high, and it may look boxy, but you have a full set of stakes and guylines to secure it against winds.
The frame is strong, observe that you also have a strong telescopic iron top roof pole. So I have no doubt that this shelter can be used year round in any weather.
Regarding the weight, it is a bit heavy (the numbers are below), but I do not think this is so important. This is a car camping item.
The packed dimensions you have given below, so it can be described as quite compact. Bear in mind this is about a set for two people.
