What this is about

Here you have a versatile and high quality tent-cot. The word Pro in the name is added to make it different from their Oztent Bunker Lite version. This is about overall features differences and fabric as well, more below.

This is a folding structure, so there is no assembly. You open it or close in seconds.

There are essentially only two separate parts, i) the bed with added four poles and an attached canopy, and ii) the fly.

The picture below shows it without the fly. Note that the poles in the head area are extendable (telescopic).

When the sky is clear, you do not need the fly, you will be fully protected from insects, the mesh canopy is there for this purpose.

Protective tabs in the middle where the cot folds are used also when you fold the tent-cot to keep the mesh canopy in place, there is a snap button to close the tabs.

Inside, next to your head you have 4 mesh pouches for storage on both sides, so you can keep your items close to you.

The mesh canopy can be completely removed so you can use the cot alone as a usual cot.  

Doors & windows

You can access the inner space from both sides of the cot, so you have two zippers that create doors. They are visible in the pictures.

But on the narrow side in the head area you also have a U-shaped zipper that opens this side completely. In principle you can get in here as well, but this mesh is best used just as a window, see the picture.

Awning

The fly flap on the head side is with zippers and with eyelets, so with a pair of extra poles (not included), you can easily create an awning.

Materials

The frame: This is strong steel with thick poles, so this is a reliable construction.

The telescopic front poles create extra head room inside. But if you use the structure as an ordinary cot, without the canopy and fly, you can lose the straps that keep the canopy up, and also retract the front poles.

The bed: They describe it as padded, but it is more than that, the padding is thick so it looks like a mattress. You can always add something extra if you need more cushion or insulation.

The fabric: You have a quality ripstop polycotton material used for the fly and other parts with fabric. Not many tent-cots on the market have such a material used, so this sets it apart from its competitors. The fabric is waterproof and fire-retardant.

The canopy is a superfine mesh that will stop any type of insects from getting in.

Storage spaces

I already mentioned 4 pouches inside, but there is more to it. Note that the fly is huge and it creates two vestibules on the sides.

The same feature you have on the narrow head-side, so here too you can create a vestibule. 

You have 6 pegs and 3 guylines included in the package to stake the vestibules out and to secure the shelter. This adds some extra protected area for storage.

The whole huge space underneath the bed is also protected from the rain, so you can use it for storage. 

Ventilation

Everything is properly done here. You have already seen its canopy that creates plenty of area through which air can circulate. So when canopy is in place, you have a large mesh above you.

They have added toggles and loops on the sides on the fly, so you can roll the flaps up and fix in place to have cross ventilation.

The same feature you also have on the narrow side of the shelter in the head area, so you can regulate ventilation as you wish.

But they have also added a small vent in the feet area for situation when you keep the fly closed.

Who is it for

Regarding the weight capacity, the bed/cot is officially for users of up to 331 lb (150 kg). So this should be fine for most of potential users.

Regarding the dimensions, the bed is exceptionally long, and its width is also very good. You have a pleasant platform that measures 82.7 x 35.4 inches (210 x 90 cm).

So this will be great even for very tall users. Observe also that there are no end-bars here, so the whole length is a useful length, and you are safe from pressure spots.

Regarding best use, seasons, climate & weather, I have no doubt that you can use this shelter in all seasons, year round.

You basically have a double-layer polycotton tent raised above ground, and you know that such tents are the closest possible to what can be described as true 4-season tents.

But here you are also elevated from the ground, so you can set the shelter literally anywhere, even in a complete mud.

The massive fly is waterproof, and you also have all necessary stakes to secure the shelter against winds. All seams are taped and sealed for a complete protection from the elements.

• So you can use it an outdoor shelter on its own, for camping, hunting, at summer festivals and concerts.
• But you can use it also indoors without the fly, without the canopy as an ordinary cot, or with the canopy if you have insects around.
• It can be used as a spare bed at home as well.

Regarding the weight, this is a heavy shelter, it weighs 37.9 lb (17.23 kg), so you should not plan to carry it long distances.
