So what this KingCamp Inflatable Chair is about
Did you know that this brand has an inflatable camping cot on the market? I guess it was just a matter of time when they would come with an inflatable chair. So here it is, to the best of my knowledge, what you have here is the first-ever camping chair with an inflatable seat and backrest.
The picture below shows how the seat looks with its air baffles. This is similar to what you have in an inflatable sleeping pad. In a sense, this is a sort of air padding and this is why I have included it in my list of padded camping chairs.
I stress that the chair is collapsible and not folding as the manufacturer describes it. The picture below shows its two elements plus the carry bag. This means that it needs a simple assembly, but this implies that you unfold its shock-corded tubes that make the frame (shown in the middle below) and then attach the sling. After that you have to inflate it.
On the left you see the carry bag, it is very compact as you realize from the picture below where its dimensions are given.
To attach the fabric on the frame you use the small pockets in its corners, see the picture below. For inflation you have a single valve shown below, the chair is inflated easily by mouth.
Headrest
This is a chair with a high backrest and below you can see its most important dimensions. It provides a great headrest and I have included it in my list of best camping chairs with a headrest.
The materials
The frame is an aluminum alloy and there are no plastic joints here, see the picture below.
The fabric is a 30D stretch polyester with a TPU coating that makes it airtight. The carry bag shown in the previous pictures above is a very durable 600D Oxford polyester.
Note that the feet are with plastic caps designed to prevent sinking in soft ground, but this is not a design to be used in a floored family camping tent.
Who is it for
Regarding the weight, the chair can be described as a very light outdoor item. It weighs 3.7 lb (1.7 kg) so it is very light but I would not call it ultralight, check my list of ultralight backpacking chairs if you need something to carry on the trail.
The packed size is also very good, you have seen its dimensions in the picture above. So this is a backpack-portable chair, and you can also transport it on a bicycle and in a kayak.
Regarding the weight capacity, officially this chair supports the weight of up to 220 lb (100 kg). This should be good enough for many users but this is still a rather modest value.
Regarding the dimensions, you have seen them already, so the chair is tall but it is not very wide. The side view above shows that the seat is not very deep, in particular in view of the air baffles that you have inside. So I see it better suited for a slimmer user than for a larger one.
Yet another thing to bear in mind, with such air baffles you have no ventilation here. So this chair is not the best option for a very warm environment. You will be sweating in such a seat.
