What is in the name
Here you have what can be described as a collapsible chair. This usually implies that it needs assembly, and this is the situation here. The chair has only two separate elements: the frame and the fabric, plus the included carry bag. All of them are shown in the picture:
The frame has many tubes but they are all shock-corded and therefore pre-attached to each other so there is nothing to guess and you can never lose any part. So the mentioned assembly means setting the frame and attaching the fabric. This can be done in 10 seconds literally.
The frame alone is shown in the picture below, all these tubes are practically one single piece. Because of such a great design I have added it to my list of best collapsible camping chairs.
The picture below shows the chair from the back so you realize there is a large mesh section on the backrest, a great detail for warm-weather camping.
Headrest
The backrest is very tall and this is behind the words ‘High Back’ in the name of this chair. There is more than 21 inches (53 cm) from the seat to the top. You have a pillow on the upper section, see the picture, its dimensions are 10.5 x 4.5 x 2 inches (27 x 11 x 5 cm). This is why the chair is included in my list of chairs with headrest.
Note also that the sling is ergonomically shaped so that it provides good lumbar support.
The materials
The metal parts are all steel, so this is reflected in the weight of the chair, more below. You have X-shaped support bars on all sides so this adds weight. The fabric is obviously polyester, they do not provide information about this.
Note that the feet are very wide, so they will not easily sink in a soft ground. The picture below shows it used on a grass:
Who is it for
Regarding the capacity, the chair is quite modest with the official 225 lb (102 kg) weight capacity. Need much more? Then check my list with chairs for heavy people.
Regarding the weight, the chair is portable with its 6 lb (2.7 kg) but this is not something you would want to carry in the pack. If this is what you need, check these best ultralight backpacking chairs.
Regarding the dimensions, the chair is very good, you will see the numbers below. Note that the seat is 18.5 inches (47 cm) above ground so this is quite moderate.
Note that the footprint is only 17.5 x 17.5 inches (44 x 44 cm) so you can use it on a small piece of ground.
The packed size is also great, see the picture below how it looks. The dimensions of the carry bag are 20 x 6 x 6 inches (51 x 15 x 15 cm). Now you know why they use the word ‘Compact’ in the name.
Regarding the price, the chair is a true bargain, a great value for the money.
