What this is about
This Dash Table is a new item from this brand and they launched it together with their Dash Chair. It is incredible that the manufacturer describes it modestly as ‘lightweight’.
In fact, with its 2 lb 4 oz (1.02 kg) of weight, this is an ultralight outdoor table, and this holds in particular when you see its size and compare it with some of its competitors. You will see this in our list of ultra-lightweight backpacking tables where this table is now included as well.
This is a collapsible design (although they describe it as folding) and this implies a very simple assembly. I have added it to my list of collapsible outdoor tables.
So you have a roll-top accordion-style hard tabletop that attaches to the frame. There are preinstalled clips (see the picture) for this purpose. So all is done literally in seconds and this is a firm and stable structure.
Observe that you have X-shaped support bars on all four sides and this is behind its great lateral stability. The frame which you see here is aluminum. The tabletop is a fabric with some aluminum stays inside. This gives it rigidity and its accordion-style construction.
The fabric is a durable 420D polyester honeycomb ripstop, you can see how it looks in the picture above. The feet are a textured plastic for a better grip.
Who is it for
Regarding the weight, you have seen it, this table is currently among the lightest on the market. So if you want something backpack-portable this is it.
Regarding the packed size, well, I am not so impressed with its (L x D) 33 x 5 inches (84 x 13 cm). It packs thin but it remains long, so it is considerably longer than its closest competitors which you can see in our separate list. Pity. See how it looks in its nice carry bag:
Regarding the size, this table is indeed impressive for such a type, with its (W x L x H) 29.5 x 21.5 x 20.5 inches (75 x 55 x 52 cm). It is big enough to be used by two backpackers for dining.
To realize what this means, see its three dimensions divided by its packed size (which I take as 84 x 13 x 13 cm although it is smaller than this because the tube profile is circular as you see from the picture above). Anyway, this gives the ratio 15.
You can do the same comparison with the dimensions/weight ratio and this table is even more impressive. So as you see, this table is completely in the rank of even batter than some of the top-rated and the best-known tables of this type.
My rating, pros & cons
