What this is about

Here you have a cot that is in the group of collapsible cots, and this means it has several separate elements and it needs a simple assembly when you want to use it for sleeping. All the elements are shown in the picture:

As you realize, it comes with a nicely designed carry bag with a shoulder strap. The size in the bag is 31 x 8 x 3 inches (79 x 20 x 8 cm).

The side poles remain in the sleeves of the bed deck so this makes the assembly easier. You unfold the fabric with the poles and start adding the 6 spring steel legs shown on the right above.

Note that a bit of force is needed to put the legs in place, you will see this in the video below.

Materials

I already mentioned steel galvanized legs, but the side bars are built from aircraft-grade aluminum.

The legs are just wires and they are narrow, so this may not be so floor-friendly material and it is best to add something underneath them if you use the cot at home or in a floored tent. They have accessory GO-KOT Camping Cot Floor Guards but those may not be widely available to order online.

The best part is the fabric where they use either CORDURA brand fabric or MIL-SPEC fabric. This is a 1000D nylon. Most of the cots on the market are built with a 600D and some even 300D fabric, just to realize what you have here.

If the fabric gets dirty they suggest using damp washcloth and mild soap, but do not place the soap directly on to the GO-KOT. Mix it with water in bowl or bucket and dip the washcloth into the soapy water before scrubbing.

Repeat the process if you did not manage the first time. Make sure you let it dry properly after the cleaning.

This carry bag is a bonus by itself, its color matches the bed and they are built from the same 1000-denier nylon.

Who is it for

Regarding the weight which is 10 lb (4.5 kg), and its packed size mentioned above, together with its great carry bag, this is a lightweight portable camping cot. But this is not something to carry long distances. This is why I have included it in my list of best cots for car camping.

Regarding the capacity, officially this cot can support the weight of up to 350 lb (159 kg). This is quite impressive, but if you need something stronger check our list with best cots for heavy people.

Regarding the size, this is a very long cot, the bed dimensions are 84 x 26 inches (213 x 66 cm). It is included in my list of extra long cots for tall people.

Regarding the price, well, you have seen its features, this is a cot built in the USA and this is reflected in its price.
