What this is about

When you see this cot, you might get a wrong impression about its structure. Namely, it may look like a folding cot, but this is a collapsible cot. This means i) it needs a simple assembly, and ii) it has several separate elements.

So the package includes:

• An accordion-type folding frame.
• Two shock-corded side poles.
• The bed fabric.
• A carry bag is included.

The mentioned assembly implies that you i) spread the frame, ii) pass the poles through the sleeves of the bed deck,  iii) click the bed into the holders on the frame. The picture below shows the metal elements in the package:

When packed in its carry bag, the cot looks as in the picture below, and its dimensions are 29 x 12 x 6 inches (74 x 30 x 15 cm).

The frame is all steel and with many support bars that create X-shaped cross structures. So you have a cot with great lateral stability. This is helped with its 8 wide feet so the weight is distributed and the cot will not sink in the ground. You can use it even in a floored family camping tent.

The fabric is typical for such cots, this is a 600-denier polyester. Note that you also have a hanging storage pouch on the side to keep your small items off the ground and close at hand.

Who is it for

Regarding the size, the cot is quite typical, the bed measures 75 x 28.7 inches (191 x 73 cm). So it is quite wide and long enough for most of the potential users. Note that there are no end-poles in the feet and head sections, so what you see as the length is the true useful length.

The cot is 14.5 inches (37 cm) high. The area underneath it looks large but with so many support bars it does not offer lots of storage space for gear.

Regarding the capacity, it is officially 300 lb (136 kg). So this is moderate but quite typical. If you need more, please check my list of cots for heavy people.

Weight-wise, with its 28 lb 11.2 oz (13 kg) this is a heavy cot. This and the packed size which you have seen above, tells you that you need a car for transportation when you use it outdoor. 

You can certainly use it as a spare bed at home for sudden guests and for emergency situations.
