What type of cot is this

Here you have a folding cot in the best sense of this word. This means there is no assembly, you simply unfold it when you need it. It looks like a military-style camping cot, but observe that there are no end bars in its design. This also implies that the whole length is a useful length.

The cot comes with a storage pouch on one side, and a bottle or cup holder on the other side. It ca serve as a small side table as well, see how it looks.

A great feature that you have here is the locking mechanism. It is on both ends of the cot, and this is why it is without end bars. So you simply press it and lock, it will prevent the cot from collapsing. This is certainly far more convenient than having end bars, see it in the picture:

The frame is a heavy-duty steel. They do not provide information about the fabric, but no doubt this is polyester.

Who is it for

Regarding the bed size, the cot is not particularly long, the bed size is 75 x 30 inches (191 x 76 cm). So if you are a very tall person, check some of these extra-long cots for tall people.

Regarding the weight and packed size, this is an item for places with a car access.

Using this cot in a tent

This is a great option for off-ground sleeping wherever you use it. But if this is a small tent, make sure you have a front door, otherwise it will be difficult to bring the cot in. Setting it in a small tent is not an option, it needs space to set it up, you will realize why from the video below.

Note that it has lots of space underneath it, so this you can use to store all your gear. This is why this is a great item to be used even in relatively small and low tents.

Using it in all seasons

Normally, for 2-season camping you will not need any pad except for extra comfort if you want it.

But in a cooler environment and for winter camping you will need some insulating pad. However, as usual with cots, you need far less insulation as compared to sleeping on a pad on the ground.
