What this is about
The Alps Mountaineering Axis Chair belongs to the group of collapsible chairs, so it needs a simple assembly. This is easily done because all you have to do is to add the fabric on the frame.
The picture below shows the chair from the back so you can see the pull loops in the top corners, they assist when you attach the fabric on the ends of the poles.
When not in use and for transportation, you store it into its included carry bag shown below. It measures 16 x 6 x 3 inches (41 x 15 x 8 cm).

Materials
You have a hubbed aluminum frame with bars on the ground. This is an excellent feature because the weight is distributed so the chair can be used on any ground and it will not sink.
The fabric is a combination of a 420D honeycomb ripstop polyester and a nylon mesh in the center. So the chair is ventilated and perfect for a warm environment.
Who is it for
Regarding the capacity, the chair is quite typical, it is officially for users of up to 250 lb (113 kg).
Regarding the dimensions, it cannot be described as particularly large, but it is meant to be ultralight so the size is reasonable. The numbers are given below.
Note that it is very low, the seat is 6 inches (15 cm) above the ground. So for elderly users it may not be so easy to get in and out.
Regarding the weight, this is an ultralight chair, I am simply impressed with its 1 lb 14 oz (0.85 kg) of weight. This is why it is in my list of ultralight backpacking chairs.
You have already seen its packed size, so the chair is also super compact. In view of this, it is incredibly versatile, you can use it anywhere, and you can also transport it any way you want.

So this Alps Mountaineering Axis Chair is truly nicely built, its legs design is such that it can use used anywhere. I wonder why there are no more chairs with such legs.
It is also ultralight and ultra ultra-compact and this makes it incredibly versatile. You have an outstanding outdoor brand behind this chair. Fully recommended.
