So what this is about
This camping table is a very convenient item for outdoor use regardless of where this can be. This is a collapsible type so it packs to the size of 28.5 x 5 x 4 inches (72 x 13 x 10 cm) when it is in its included carry bag, see the picture below. This also implies that it needs assembly, but this is easily done in under one minute and without any tool.
There are 5 elements here plus a carry bag (shown in the picture below), and they include (from left to right in the picture):
- The shock-corded legs frame.
- Two poles that support the tabletop at two ends.
- One pole that supports the tabletop in the middle.
- The tabletop.
The frame
This is a patented construction with poles that follow the same design and technology used in tent poles and camping chairs of this brand, we have many of their chairs here in the site.
So the poles are shock-corded, this means they are permanently attached to each other and there is no chance to lose any of them or to guess how to connect them.
This is a hubless design similar to what you have in their more recent chairs like Big Agnes Mica Basin Camp Chair and Big Agnes Big Six Camp Chair. In practical terms, this means that there are no plastic connectors to which the legs attach. They attach directly to each other and you see this in the picture:
The structure looks so fragile, but this is a strong yet lightweight aircraft aluminum pole system and the weight capacity is no less than 90 lb (41 kg), who would say. You will hardly ever need more for such a table.
What you also see in the picture above are the feet with caps for floor protection. So you can use this table even in a large floored family camping tent.
The table-top & other elements
This is a sort of a hard-top structure with a lightweight nylon 100D Robic that is 25% – 30% stronger than a regular yarn in the same denier; and a 300D polyester rip-stop for extra tear strength.
The surface is also with a waterproof UTS coating. Plastic clips attach the tabletop to the frame. Note that the tabletop can be rolled up, this is what makes it so nicely packable.
When the tabletop is in place, it is 24 inches (61 cm) above the ground. This is quite reasonable for a camp table. Its size is 27.5 x 24 inches (70 x 61 cm), so this is enough space for dishes used by two people.
How to set it up
To set up the table do the following:
- Spread the tabletop upside down.
- Attach the central supporting pole to it, there are two Velcro tabs that keep it in place. This central pole provides support and stability in the middle of the table.
- Assemble the legs frame.
- Add two end poles to the legs frame.
- Snap the tabletop on such a platform, it will be firm in place due to clips which are on the frame.
When it is time to pack it up, just dismantle everything and roll the frame and the three poles in the tabletop. Packing it into its carry bag is very easy.

Final thoughts
This Big Agnes Soul Kitchen Camp Table is a versatile product that you can use in the camp, at the beach, at picknicks, or in the garden at home. It is very light and packable, but it is also expensive. If you can afford it, I can fully recommend it.
