What this BunduTop Rooftop Tent is about
Here you have a hard shell pop-up type roof top tent, and it is everything but ordinary as you will realize from the features below. It has been on the market for several years already, tried and tested by many people.
The tent has the usual four openings on all four sides, so these are double-layer windows/doors with zippered mesh and zippered panels that are equipped with the top quality YKK zippers.
This means that you can get in from any side, depending on your preference and on how you park the car.
When everything is closed, the interior is completely dark. So it can be described as a dark-rest tent, but I have not seen them mentioning this important fact anywhere.
You have an awning on all sides, it is like a skirt and it creates extra shade which makes the interior even more comfortable.
Electric pop-up system
So all is electric here, you can see the electric motor inside the tent, it is on the right in the picture below. You can also see the winch system on the ceiling. This is a 2000 lbs Winch Motor that lifts and lowers the tent with the use of 3 mm Dyneema Rope on a pulley system.
On the right in the corner is the solar controller set, with some USB connectors.
So this tent raises auto-magically with a press on a button that you have outside on the shell. Note that the awning raises automatically as well.
There are several other electric elements here, see below the connectors for solar panels (that are not included).

Materials & installations
The tent is an aluminum construction, this applies to the bottom and the top. The aluminum is black now, but I have seen white version on the market as well.
The frame built into the bottom of the tent provides additional strength and makes it versatile to mount. It can be bolted directly to your load bars or roof rack.
The walls are a very durable Riptech canvas. They use a 300 gsm fabric that is UV resistant to prevent fading. The mentioned wrap-around awning is at a 45° angle so that you can have ventilation in poor weather with maximum water deflection.
The mesh areas are coated in a rubber compound making the material extremely flexible and durable. Note that you have a foam backed roof-lining that absorbs moisture and condensation.
Mattress: This is yet another great feature here that make it very different from all its competitors. You have 4 inches (10.2 cm) thick high-density foam mattress for full comfort.
Solar panels ready: You have already seen this above. So the tent comes ready for solar panels if you decide to attach them on the roof. The wiring runs underneath the roof lining.
Bottom plug for the car: So this is about another plug at the bottom of the tent that you can use to connect to your vehicle’s wiring. This includes also a 12v outlet to charge your phone.

Who is it for
Regarding capacity, they have three different sizes on the market, Standard, King size, and Supper King size. You will see the numbers below.
So the smallest, Standard size, can accommodate two adults, and the other versions have space for three and four people respectively.
Note that it is thick enough when closed so that you can keep all your blankets and pillows inside.
Regarding seasons and climate, this tent can be used year round. It is fully waterproof and sand proof so you can use it in every seasons and climate.
The integrated fan will certainly help if those large four windows do not provide enough air circulation. Note that the larger versions have two of them.
They claim that it is tested for extremely windy conditions with winds up to 50 mph.

In summary, the quality of this BunduTop Roof Top Tent is second to none, and the same holds regarding features. The electric system that you have here is without a match, and the tent is completely ready for solar panels.
Both the lid and the awning deploy and close automatically, and you have a fan and light integrated. But this comes at a price. In any case, fully recommended.
