What this Coleman Living Collection Cot is about

So here you have an item from Coleman’s Living Collection that includes also a bench, a table, and two nicely designed camping chairs. 

This is a folding cot with all the elements pre-attached, so all you have to do is to unfold it and it is ready. When it is time to go, you turn the cot on the side, and fold the legs on the two ends under the cot. In the process, the cot collapses laterally towards the center. After that fold the cot in half. This is shown below.

 Then you can store the cot in its included carry bag shown below. Its dimensions are 38 x 7.75 x 5.75 inches (97 x 20 x 15 cm).

Materials

The frame is an aluminum reinforced with steel. Note that its 6 legs are vertical and there are no locking features, but they are supported from two sides with those bars, so the cot is stable. The only fixed legs are those in the middle. 

The feet are with plastic caps, but they are quite narrow, so I would not use it in a floored camping tent without extra protection. The picture below is only for demonstration. 

The fabric is a polyester, I could not find any information about its denier value.

Note that it comes with a side storage pouch shown in the picture. This is useful to keep your small items at hand and off the ground.

Who is it for

Regarding the capacity, this cot is quite typical with its 300 lb (136 kg) official capacity. This is almost twice my weight so it is perfect. But if you need more, please check in my list of camping cots for heavy people. 

Regarding the dimensions, it is quite modest, the bed measures (L x W) 74.8 x 24 inches (190 x 61 cm). But this is again quite typical for such cots. Note that there are no end bars so this length is all useful length.

But there are bars on the sides and they take a few centimeters so it is fair to say that the cot is a bit narrow. See below how it looks.

The picture showing the cot in the tent given earlier in the text, demonstrates how much storage space you have here under the cot. The deck is 15 inches (38 cm) above the ground.

Regarding the weight, the cot can be described as lightweight with its 12.9 lb (5.85 kg). You have already seen its packed size so it is a bit long but quite compact. In any case, this is a car camping outdoor bed.

Regarding the price, it is a bit steep, there are more affordable cots on the market, like the Quest Camp Cot Instant Cot. 

But this is a part of a really nice collection which adds value and this is its good selling point. Of course, you do not have to buy the other products from this collection.
