What is in the name

Here you have a chair that could be described as collapsible. This means that it needs a simple assembly, but this is easily done in a few tens of seconds. You basically have only two main pieces here, a shock-corded frame and a chair fabric.

So all the tubing in the frame is pre-attached to each other and there is nothing to guess. When you prepare the frame, you attach the sling to the four poles. There are some tiny pockets underneath the sling where these poles’ ends fit, you can see them in the picture:

Observe the pull loops, they are here because of tension in the fabric, so you will have to pull them and also to bend the poles a bit before attaching the sling.

Equally easy it is to fold the chair and to pack it in its carry bag shown below. The size of the folded chair in the carry bag is (L x D) 22 x 7 inches (56 x 18 cm).

The chair has two pockets on the sides, see the pictures above and below. Here you can store small items like your keys, a mobile phone, and similar stuff.

Materials

The frame is aluminum with plastic hub elements shown in the picture below. They do not provide more information about them.

Note that the feet are with plastic caps, but they are narrow and definitely not suitable for sand and soft ground in general. You would not want to use the chair in a floored family camping tent.

The fabric is an abrasion-resistant ripstop polyester and mesh. They are with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish resisting moisture and stains. The fabric is bluesign-approved.

Who is it for

Capacity-wise, the chair is typical, officially it is for users up to 300 lb (136 kg). If you need something stronger please check my list of chairs for heavy people.

Size-wise, I would describe it as modest, though the backrest is high and you have a removable pillow. But this is a neck-rest and not a headrest, the chair is 36.5 inches (93 cm) tall. The seat is a bit low, you have 12.5 inches (32 cm) clearance.

Weight-wise, this REI Flexlite Camp Dreamer Chair can be described as very light with its 3 lb 7 oz (1.56 kg). But it is not an ultralight backpacking chair although it is backpack portable. I have included it in my list of best collapsible camping chairs.
