What this is about
The description of this chair on Amazon is a bit confusing, you will see it described as a recliner, and with several different weight capacities. But this is definitely not a recliner, here you have a folding camping chair that folds and opens in seconds. So there is no assembly, it is ready as it is, you simply expand it. The picture below shows how it folds.
This type is becoming popular and there are many brands with such chairs on the market. Some call them ‘club chairs’ and some use the term ‘moon saucer’. I have seen also the term ‘sofa chair’ used by some. You can see also this Guide Gear Oversized Club Camp Chair built in the same style.
Note that it comes with a cup holder shown below on the right side, and the carry bag shown above is with s shoulder strap.
Yet another detail here you can see in the picture above, and this is its solid but padded armrests. This makes getting in and out easier, suitable for elderly users.
Materials
The fabric is a 600D polyester and the chair is padded, there is some foam inside. This is why I have added it to my list of padded folding camping chairs. A carry bag of the same material is included.
The frame looks really great you have powder-coated steel tubes that measure 0.9 inches (2.3 cm) in diameter. From the pictures you realize that the feet are large, this is a sort of plastic, floor-friendly and safe to use in a floored family tent.
The picture below shows how well this is done. So the chair has four legs, plus those support bars that are riveted at the cross points, but this connection is not rigid, this is how the chair folds.
Who is it for
Capacity-wise, this chair officially supports up to 350 lb (159 kg), although you will see several different numbers in the descriptions around. In any case, this should be good for practically all users. The chair looks as if it could withstand more.
Size-wise, the dimensions are excellent, you will see the numbers below. So this is a well-proportioned chair, very wide and with a moderately high seat.
Weight-wise, the chair is heavy and my rating below is not high. The same holds for its packed size, it is bulky because of this all padding and also because of its armrests.
I use the same criteria for all the chairs for easy comparison and can tell you that its packed size is quite typical for such a type. So, all in all, this is a chair for places with a car access.
